ESMOD PARIS

COUTURE COLLECTION 3TH YEAR

Schermafbeelding 2026-02-25 om 18.22.05.png

Parisien Chic is inspired by the atmosphere of Paris at night, when the city reveals a more mysterious and refined character. The collection explores the elegance and quiet intensity of the Parisian nightlife through silhouettes that balance sophistication and modernity.

High-quality fabrics were selected for their ability to capture and reflect light, evoking the glow of the city after dark. Through texture, structure, and subtle contrasts, the garments translate the allure and timeless elegance associated with Paris by night.

This look opens with a sculptural, layered top in deep black, in which pleats and folded panels surround the shoulders as if shaped by architecture. The neckline stands up slightly, creating a protective, almost regal posture without looking heavy. The top fits tightly at the waist, leaving room for the silhouette to unfold further through dramatically constructed trousers: a high-waisted silhouette with a voluminous balloon shape that bulges around the lower body. The pleats run downwards like lines, adding movement and structure, with each step creating a gentle wave through the fabric. The overall effect is powerful, quiet, and monumental — couture that does not show off, but simply is.

This almost theatrical cloak feels like a nocturnal cocoon. The high stand-up collar embraces the neck and creates a sculptural shape from which the balloon sleeves descend. The waist is tightly fastened with a belt, making the upper body look long and refined, while the coat flares out into a curved A-line. Shiny fabric creates a subtle reflective effect, reminiscent of wet streets under lamplight. This is couture as protection: elegant, mysterious, and completely in control.

This look blends historical allure with modern sculpture. An off-shoulder top envelops the shoulders like a jewel, in black velvet or embroidered fabric that catches the light with a soft shimmer. The sleeves float around the arms with balloon-like curves, sturdy enough to retain their shape but soft enough to remain elegant. The skirt is bright white and forms a cocoon around the body, created from carefully placed pleats that fall from the waist down. The high slit, centered at the front, reveals rhythm and movement as the wearer walks. The combination of black above and white below gives the silhouette an almost graphic purity.

This halter dress plays with the tension between skin and fabric. The bodice opens into a deep V that disappears into transparency, supported by narrow straps around the neck and shoulders. The back is completely exposed, allowing the silhouette to fall in a single line from neck to waist. From that point, the iconic white cocoon shape unfolds once again: round, inflated, soft but completely controlled. The slit maintains elegance and elongates the leg. The contrast between the airy top and sculptural skirt makes this piece light, sensual, and dramatic at the same time.

This black evening gown is a study in asymmetry and shine. The neckline opens deeply in a V, tightly framed by a clean, modern shoulder line. The waistband, subtly embellished with metallic thread or sequins, acts as a shimmering horizon between the top and bottom. The skirt falls long and narrow and features a shiny texture on one side—as if a streak of light runs along the body. The high slit allows for movement without disrupting the minimalism. The silhouette exudes quiet power: fewer words, more presence.

A sharply tailored double-breasted suit forms the heart of this look. The blazer runs diagonally across the body, suggesting movement even when the wearer is standing still. Lapel and cuffs are finely sprinkled with embroidery that glitters like stardust or champagne bubbles. The trousers follow a calm, narrow line with precise creases. The result is menswear, timeless, yet distinctive—Armani-esque discipline with Parisian glamour.

Slim, strapless bodice forms the basis, pressed tightly against the body. However, one shoulder comes to life: an embroidered strip of fabric runs diagonally across the collarbone and along the arm, as if a shooting star had fallen from the dark. The skirt remains simple and streamlined, allowing the asymmetry to come into its own. This look whispers luxury — understated glamour that makes a statement without shouting.

A sculptural gown where movement and restraint exist in quiet balance. The strapless bodice is sharply structured, forming a clean architectural frame around the upper body. A deep V-cut introduces a subtle contrast through delicate texture, drawing light into the otherwise calm surface. From the waist downward, the silhouette releases into a long, fluid line. A softly curved panel wraps around the legs, creating the illusion of motion within a controlled structure. The back remains minimal and pure, allowing the form and proportions to speak for themselves. A composition of precision, silence, and flow.

A hand-decorated bustier corset forms the centerpiece: structured, linear, and sparkling in detail. The waistband encloses the slimmest point of the body before the trousers open into a soft, cocoon-like bulge. The volume in the hips and thighs disappears towards the ankles, creating length and direction. Together, these two elements form a sculpture in black — powerful and architectural.

A classic suit with an unexpected couture secret. At the front, the blazer appears strict and controlled, with embroidered lapels and double-breasted buttons. But at the back, the fabric sinks into a deep geometric cutout that leaves the back bare. This openness feels modern and seductive within an otherwise understated silhouette. Slim trousers maintain balance and create a streamlined, nocturnal look.

The toile stage is an essential part of my design process, allowing me to explore proportion, volume, and construction directly on the form. Through draping and adjustments, the toile helps refine the silhouette and structure before the final garment is developed.

This process allows for experimentation and precision, ensuring that each design evolves through careful construction and technical refinement.
